Its history
An illustrious past characterises Villa Le due Torrette. Erected in the 18th century near Erba, the villa was first owned by the noble Colombo family and then by the Valaperta, an important family of Milanese silk merchants. Meanwhile, the villa became a meeting point for distinguished personalities such as the writer Alessandro Manzoni and the painter Francesco Hayez. In 1800 the two turrets from which the Villa takes its name were rebuilt. In the meantime, the Villa became property of the Crespi family, then of the Giussani family, and finally passed to the current family, which manages the property today.
